Arclinea and B&B Italia at the London Design Festival 2017

SEEN keenly anticipates this year’s London Design Festival, taking place from 16th – 24th September. Not least because B&B Italia will launch their partnership with Arclinea high-end designer kitchens. The brand will also celebrate the UK debut of its 2017 collections, including the 20th anniversary edition of the iconic Charles seating system; all to be revealed with a new look for its B&B Italia London store on Brompton Road.

London Design Festival at the V&A: Future History

SEEN enjoyed a preview of some of the excellent projects currently in the iconic Victoria & Albert museum for the London Design Festival. Showcasing some of the very best in Design from the 17th – 25th September, the LDF enjoys support from the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan who said, ‘… the festival allows people from all walks of life the opportunity to experience why London really is the design capital of the world.’ Sir John Sorrell, chairman of the London Design festival added, ‘The V&A, as the main hub of the Festival, hosts a stunning series of interventions, alongside its temporary exhibitions and permanent collections.’

London Design Festival 2016: The Smile

SEEN was delighted and intrigued to view and walk through ‘THE SMILE’, the cantilevered installation that graces the at the Rootstein Hopkins Parade Ground at Chelsea College of Art. It is a monumental work that perfectly demonstrates the technique of cross-laminated tulipwood construction.

London Design Festival 2016: Pilotis at Kvadrat

SEEN was stunned by Danish textile supplier Kvadrat’s showroom; a huge space on Shepherdess Walk. At the moment it houses ‘Pilotis’ a truly fascinating installation of curtains and textiles created in collaboration with Kvadrat. Designed by EDIDA award-winning duo Doshi Levien, this first collection explores light, shape and layers, drawing from the inspiration of different architectural textures, pointillism and tapestries by the renowned Le Corbusier.
