The acclaimed design duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have a diverse body of work that spans industrial design, furniture, lighting and site-specific installations, as well as gallery and public commissions such as the London 2012 Olympic Torch and projects for the Royal Mint. SEEN loved their installation Forecast in the courtyard of Somerset House at last year’s Design Biennale.

Barber & Osgerby: Forecast at the London Design Biennale 2016

SEEN was delighted to attend the preview of the London Design Biennale on Tuesday and was dumbstruck by the magnificent Forecast which dominates the courtyard of Somerset House. Sadly it was not windy – a shame, as Forecast is a wind-powered installation created by award-winning designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in collaboration with the V&A, supported by British Land.

The Big Names Behind Iconic Designs: Barber & Osgerby and Jonathan Ive

You may not be familiar with their names, but SEEN’s sure that you know their designs.
From the first piece designed in 1997 in their studio in Trellick Tower, London – the Loop Table, current leading British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have produced two of the most iconic contemporary British designs: The London Olympic Torch, and the ₤2 coin, commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the London Underground in 2013.

Arclinea and B&B Italia at the London Design Festival 2017

SEEN keenly anticipates this year’s London Design Festival, taking place from 16th – 24th September. Not least because B&B Italia will launch their partnership with Arclinea high-end designer kitchens. The brand will also celebrate the UK debut of its 2017 collections, including the 20th anniversary edition of the iconic Charles seating system; all to be revealed with a new look for its B&B Italia London store on Brompton Road.

Parabola at the Design Museum

Parabola is Prescott & Conran’s all-day dining space at the new Design Museum: high profile food and drinks at one of the most high profile museums in the world. Those passionate about art are truly spoilt for choice this autumn with art fairs taking place all over a city already magnificently endowed with galleries and exhibitions. Universal Design Studio returned as the architects of Frieze London for the third consecutive year and introduced an improved interior, new outdoor gallery space for Frieze Projects, and a bold entryway installation.
