SEEN wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from an evening with Shaun Leane. Beautifully crafted and unusual jewellery from his own line and in collaboration with the late, great Lee Alexander McQueen for sure, but what she had not anticipated was Shaun’s wry, funny and moving account of his longstanding association with the enfant terrible of British fashion.

Alexander McQueen’s AW17 Collection Channels the Spirit of Oscar Wilde

New York-based photographer Ethan James Green has captured the AW17 Collection for Alexander McQueen with a lookbook and video shot in a park, instead of the more usual catwalk display. And what a good choice; the rich peacock motifs and crisp white tailoring positively glow against the bleakness of a wintry park. The mood is sombre, as you might expect; Wilde’s life was troubled towards the end. Green is an appropriate choice for shooting the collection. He is already known for his monochrome portraits of New York’s trans and gender-queer communities.

Jack O’Connell Cast as Fashion’s ‘Enfant Terrible’ Alexander McQueen

Star of ’71, Unbroken and Skins, and Alexander McQueen lookalike Jack O’ Connell is to play the late visionary designer in the biopic directed by Andrew Haigh. Based on McQueen’s biography: ‘Blood Beneath The Skin’, the film will focus on six months of the troubled designer’s life in 2009 as he prepared his penultimate collection: Horn of Plenty.
