National Rum Day at Zuma

Rejoice, rum-lovers everywhere! Today is National Rum Day! Never mind the rain… Transport yourself to the Caribbean this summer with internationally renowned contemporary Japanese restaurant and bar, Zuma, Knightsbridge, who have teamed up with Plantation Rum to introduce a new Tiki-Yaki cocktail menu. Zuma have collaborated with the producers of the finest rums from the Caribbean to create exciting cocktails with Tiki twists. The summer menu will combine captivating tastes from Japan with flavours from destinations afar. The cocktails are perfect to enjoy at Zuma’s relaxing bar or outside terrace to celebrate the spirit of Tiki.

To fully immerse in Caribbean and Tiki life, Zuma’s guests can sip on seven new exclusive cocktails featuring the different iconic Plantation Rums with specially crafted recipes created by Zuma’s acclaimed Bar Manager, Pawel Rolka, and his dedicated team. The cover of the bar menu has also been redesigned by Plantation Rum with a great Tiki design, helping to transport guests to the tropical regions while relaxing back in Knightsbridge.

Guests seeking a refreshing cocktail for the summer months should look no further than the Japanese Breeze. Made with Plantation’s quintessential Jamaican-style Xaymaca Rum as well as sweet tasting ume juice, fragrant peach, creamy mango puree, aromatic bitters and shiso leaves, this cocktails brings a compelling mix of flavours to tempt those with a sweet tooth while remaining true to Zuma’s signature Japanese style.

Or, for a fruity infusion, opt for the irresistible Banana and Black Sesame Daiquiri featuring the Plantation 3 Stars Rum. The white rum is a crisp blend of the region’s three primary terroirs – Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad – and is paired with Zuma’s famous banana cake, black sesame cordial and lime juice to create a captivating cocktail. Another cocktail, the Daku-Shitsu is a beautiful blend of the best of the Caribbean and Japan, mixing rum with sweet pineapple soda, aromatic bitters and a dash of Wasabi to ensure Zuma’s true Japanese flavours infuse the delicious fruity flavours inspired by the tropics.

Guests can also embrace true island life with the coconutty Koko-Korada – Zuma’s lighter take on the classic Piña Colada – a tasty mix of Plantation 3 Stars White Rum which is aged in a yuzu cask, mixed with creamy coconut milk, sweet pineapple liquor, toasty roasted coconut and Zuma’s signature sesame.

Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant inspired by an izakaya and the bar has been designed with this concept in mind. Guests can enjoy over 60 different varieties of sake at the bar, together with an wide range of alluring and eclectic cocktails. Seasonality and quality of ingredients are integral to the Zuma essence in both food and drinks.
