Traditional Afternoon Tea at The Savoy.

Here’s an excellent idea for August in SEEN’s humble opinion: the Savoy’s Executive Pastry Chef, Ludwig Hely, and his team have created a signature selection of classic pastries and cakes as well as an array of delectable traditional sandwiches and flawless homemade scones for guests to enjoy.

Served in the magnificent surroundings of Thames Foyer, the heart of The Savoy; stunning glass dome floods this sociable spot with natural light-and beneath this, a pianist will serenade guests from a gazebo, as they savour the world-famous Afternoon Tea, away from the bustling heat of the capital.

Priced from £65 per person, examples of the pastry menu include:

Cornish Strawberry Tartlet (Strawberries paired with rhubarb and hints of vanilla)
Dark Chocolate Cake (60% dark chocolate from Ghana sprinkled with American cherries covered with chocolate shavings)
Choux Pastry Creation (Choux pastry filled with roasted apricot compote with fresh passion fruit pulp & pistachio praline)
Peach Macaroon (filled with an almond velvet, topped with different textures of white, yellow and blood peaches)
