Kim Jones in Iconic Fashion Farewell with Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss

As the phrase goes, ‘in my ending is my beginning’, and it’s certainly intriguing to see how supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell escorted Kim Jones down the catwalk at his final menswear collection for Louis Vuitton In Paris. Does this mean that Jones is setting his sights on womenswear for the future? We can but hope. Surely the talented Jones has only to choose his next fashion house?

In keeping with Louis Vuitton’s origins as a travel brand, Jones’ last luxury sportswear collection epitomised the need for clothes to move with the wearer: “It’s about clothes that can change, about fabrics that can travel on the body – and transform,” he commented.

The advantage of an august house like Louis Vuitton is the archive material that Jones had to draw on for the A/W 18 show: Wild West rodeos, Far East, Sports arenas, Kenya… All these themes meant that the Paris-based designer has truly reinvented Louis Vuitton’s menswear, putting it in a strong position for his successor.
