34 Mayfair x Liberty: Garden of Beauty

SEEN has been enjoying the glorious flower design soon to be seen at 34 Mayfair and the iconic Liberty London.

This autumn, 34 Mayfair collaborates with Liberty London to create a bespoke print exclusively for the restaurant. The 34 Mayfair x Liberty London collaboration will be the iconic British brand’s only restaurant partnership in living history, and will see the exquisite new pattern cover 34 Mayfair’s South Audley Street awning.

The limited edition print, entitled Garden of Beauty, will also be turned into a cushion, used at the restaurant and available to purchase exclusively from Liberty London and online, and the restaurant’s doormen and maître d’ team will welcome guests whilst sporting Garden of Beauty ties and pocket squares.

The Garden of Beauty print is inspired by mid-1960s oriental flowering trail designs, which in turn were inspired by the motifs of the 1920s. The print has been reimagined using two references from Liberty London’s vast archive of over 40,000 patterns, started in the 1880s when Liberty London began producing its own pattern books. Garden of Beauty features oversized chrysanthemums, peonies and foliage in rich pink, blue, ochre and turquoise hues to create a dense, exotic flowering jungle. The intricate pattern is both striking and intense; busy to the eye but harmonious. Despite its historic heritage, Garden of Beauty is remarkably contemporary.

James Millar, Design Director of Liberty London Fabrics, comments, “Liberty London was thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with 34 Mayfair: its modern approach with a touch of wit and a hint of heritage deco is the perfect showcase for crafted and spirited interior designs. Garden of beauty is one of my personal favourites from recent years, fusing together bold 1960s patterns, but redrawn and interpreted for today, adding modernity and really complimenting the artistic yet approachable 34 Mayfair brand.”
The print has also inspired both a dessert and cocktail, created by 34 Mayfair’s expert pastry chefs and bar team, both of which will be available to order at the restaurant from Tuesday, 19th September.

The Garden of Beauty cushion will be available to purchase from Tuesday, 19th September, priced at £125.

My Furry Lady: the Art of Marion Peck at Dorothy Circus Gallery

SEEN can safely say that there is nowhere quite like Dorothy Circus Gallery in Notting Hill. It is the very antithesis of the white, clinical art gallery that abounds in the capital. From the beautiful yet disquieting pop surrealist art that is the passion of gallery director Alexandra Mazzanti, to the welcoming gallery itself complete …
