Alice Ella: 24 Obsession

SEEN was delighted to attend the single launch of Alice Ella’s ’24 Obsession’ on August 3rd at the Hospital Club in Covent Garden. The room was packed with fans and friends and nicely warmed up by support acts Louise Golbey, Beatfox and Joshua KYEOT plus DJ Nate James.

Alice and her solid live band wowed the enthusiastic room with her set, originals ‘Somewhere Else’, ‘Wake Me Up’ and of course ’24 Obsession’ plus cover versions where she made ‘Pillow Talk’ and ‘Tears’ her own, combining an impressive vocal range with the demands of complex phrasing. SEEN was reminded powerfully of Pat Benatar.

Alice’s versatile and soaring vocals and (very important in SEEN’s book), her charisma, made this a standout night. Alice’s commanding stage presence and easy relationship with her audience resulted in a storming performance that should do much to spread the word about this talented singer. One to watch.
