Fashion Galore: Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair Celebrates its 8th Birthday

SEEN’s personal favourite, the Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair, takes place on Sunday 7th May, marking eight years since its founding and making it one of the longest-running and most respected fairs in London.

This year is a particularly poignant one, as the fair has moved to a new venue, the fabulous Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch, and takes on a new, more fashion-focussed approach.

Recognising the need for London to have a premium vintage event selling pre-loved designer labels such as Chanel, Dior, Burberry, and Vivienne Westwood, as well as genuine pieces in good condition from little-known vintage brands, Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair is establishing itself as the go-to fair for fashion lovers. Already a top destination with industry insiders including design houses, stylists, costume designers and more, our aim is to further cement ourselves as an essential service to the industry, with the important role that vintage plays within it, while also creating an enjoyable shopping experience for London’s style enthusiasts.

Fair-goers can expect to find 50 traders selling womenswear, menswear, accessories and textiles dating from the Victorian era to 1990s at the Courthouse Hotel which will be serving lunch, afternoon tea and cocktails throughout the day, accompanied by a five piece Prohibition Era jazz and blues band – The Volstead Orchestra bringing the sounds from the Speakeasies of the 1920’s and 30’s.

Special rates on hotel rooms, plus free entry to the fair, are available for the weekend when quoting CLERKENWELL17 when you book. Come and find out why they’ve been the capital’s favourite fair for the past eight years! SEEN can guarantee you’ll be knocked out by the quality of the items to buy. It’s a fantastic experience. Entry to the fair is £4 (£2 for students) on the door.

Sunday 7th May 2017 from 11am until 5pm.

Sculpture in the City, Art for Everyone

SEEN thoroughly enjoyed a preview of the 18 new artworks around the financial district’s square mile. Set up by The City of London in 2010, this excellent initiative expands its footprint every year, improving the area and proving that when people are happy, they work better.

Alex Evans at the Foundry Gallery, Chelsea Quarter: LDF17

The astute reader will have noticed that SEEN loves art about London. There are many artists in this city who draw (pun intended) their inspiration from it, none more so than Alex Evans whose fractal renderings hint at the entropic nature of urban life and perhaps also our anxieties and isolation in the 21st century. His latest exhibition ‘Invisible Systems’ can be seen at the Foundry Gallery, tucked away off the King’s Road until 26th October.
