Stoke House: New Dining in Victoria’s Nova Gourmand Paradise

SEEN is always excited when new restaurants appear on the busy London dining scene. Now it’s the turn of Stoke House, Will Ricker’s new project, which will be serving traditional cuts of the most delicious meats and seasonal produce from around Great Britain, with an American contemporary concept carvery. It’s set to open its doors this April in Victoria’s Nova Complex, which comprises 17 restaurants and three pop-up kiosks, plus a beautiful public space, all due to be fully operational by Summer 2017.

Stoke House promises to be a modern take on the great British carvery meats and seasonal produce, cooked by acclaimed former Head Chef of Fitzrovia’s The Newman Arms, Pete Denhart. Customers choose their meat at the counter by the weight and then have their brisket, ribs, chicken and pulled pork perfectly cooked in an impressive wood fire smoker. A ‘living salad wall’ complements the menu, served in a warm and open atmosphere.

Ricker’s new restaurant has been designed by New York-based Volenec Studio and features communal tables, bench and bar seating with low lighting. Dark wood, contemporary tiles and copper elements provide a homely and soft setting, while wine casks lined up along one side of the space add a rustic touch.

The menu includes delicious meats such as Slowly smoked aged Ruby Red Suffolk beef short rib; Slow roasted Welsh lamb belly; Middlewhite pork collar brioche with fennel apple slaw and burnt apple sauce and finally; Rare Cornish barrel rump, seared and seasoned with Cornish Sea salt. Pair with a classic side such as Smoked cauliflower cheese; Pulled pork beans; Roasted balsamic beets with confit red onion and feta and Garlic and thyme roasted potatoes. For dessert, the options are tasty classics: Banana split; Salted chocolate tart and Ice cream sundaes. Plus modern-classic cocktails, a good range of craft beers, wines straight from the barrel and some great music to the mix, and the bar at Stoke House will be the place to finish off a beautiful meal.

Stoke House promises to be a slice of heaven for American BBQ lovers in Victoria’s Nova Complex, a true gourmands’ paradise with a whole bunch of new dining options. Stoke House will join the already open Sourced Market, Timmy Green, Hai Cenato, Shake Shack, Greenwood, Aster and Franco Manca, plus others that will be opening in the summer, such as Aster by D&D London and The Rail House Café by Adam White. The Nova complex is going to be the new go-to destination. You can be sure that SEEN will be checking it out.
