Let Sir Elton John Guide You Through His Collection of Iconic Photography

A while ago, SEEN recommended that you visit The Radical Eye: Modernist Photography from the Sir Elton John Collection, a major exhibition at Tate Modern, consisting of nearly 150 rare vintage prints from the 1920s to the 1950s, a crucial period in the history of photography.

These classic modernist images taken by over 70 artists such as Brassai, Imogen Cunningham, André Kertész, Dorothea Lange, Tina Modotti, and Aleksandr Rodchenko, are just a few shots from Sir Elton John’s private collection of photography. Now SEEN invites you to take a home tour, guided by Sir Elton himself, through the complete collection he lives with, which he has been building up since he started his passion for photography.

All photos are absolutely beautiful and inspiring: multiple exposures, solarised photos, silver prints, nudes, surrealists, collages, hand-coloured photos… and Man Ray’s iconic portraits of Dali, Satie, Breton… all as fascinating as the stories behind them.

The Radical Eye: Modernist Photography from the Sir Elton John Collection will be running at Tate Modern until 7th May 2017. Tour the complete collection along with Sir Elton John here:
