Former Tribes Frontman Johnny Lloyd to support The Fratellis

Lloyd will join The Fratellis for a host of dates across the UK, winding up with two dates at the Kentish Forum on 13th and 14th December.
“woozy, washed-out guitar work with a metronomic beat and languid vocals to create a warm psychedelic outing” The Line Of Best Fit

The gigs follow his own Autumn headline tour, plus high profile support slots with Tom Odell and Goo Goo Dolls, which saw Lloyd play some of his biggest shows to date.
“the songwriter’s finest solo moment to date” CLASH

Lloyd will be performing songs from his new EP ‘Dreamland’, which features tracks produced by Hugo White from The Maccabees as well as Jamie T. The EP is out now on Xtra Mile Recordings and reached Number 12 in the iTunes Pop Chart. SEEN’s particular favourite is ‘Hello Death’.
“…his lo-fi melancholy is decidedly unpolished, and it’s all the better for its roughness” Pigeons & Planes

The new single ‘Happy Humans’ is currently being played across Radio X, picking up where previous single ‘Pilgrims’ left off; it was playlisted at Radio X after bagging the Shock Of The New daytime slot as well as receiving further plays on 6Music, thanks to Steve Lamacq and Dermot O’Leary’s Radio 2 show. The video, which features British Actor Douglas Booth, premiered on VEVO, clocking up over 50,000 views.

UK TOUR DATES:

09/12/16  –  Newcastle Upon Tyne – O2 Academy

Ladies of the Press at Sluice Biennial

SEEN headed up to Hackney recently, there to peruse this year’s Sluice Biennial. The Castle at the Space: SEEN Reviews

SEEN was not that familiar with the work of Howard Barker prior to seeing ‘The Castle’ but feels she must rectify that situation. A powerful piece on the nature of masculinity, war, gender roles and the essential unreliability of religious faith, ‘The Castle’ benefits from a powerhouse cast and a stripped-back set, making the most of the Space’s environment.
