Right next to the dramatic fortress walls, close to the River Thames, the spectacular Tower of London ice rink is now open to celebrate the Christmas season. Surrounded by the magical, historic atmosphere of this unique skating location in the heart of London, there’s not a better place to follow this fun Christmas sport.

It’s particularly magical in the evenings, when the snowflake lights fall against the castle wall and create a very special view. And this year, for the first time, there is a real ice bar, the Eis Haus Experience. Using over ten tonnes of crystal clear ice, everything in this stunning pop-up ice lounge and bar is made out of ice, including the hand-carved sculptures in the interior. Take your picture on the Ice Throne Photo Booth located inside the Ice Cave, protected by two fierce ice lions, and have a shot in an ice glass, of course, or some Pops, a non-alcoholic Ice Pop. With spectacular views across the Tower, the Après Bar is the place to enjoy your winter tipples.

The Dip Dunk Lodge is also a great place to warm up, sharing a cheese or chocolate fondue with friends, lamb and cinnamon skewers, roasted jacket potatoes with hot pumpkin sauce, and a range of mini sharing pies, including spiced chicken, steak & ale, or butternut, spinach & feta. Other Christmas traditions to enjoy here are mulled wine, gingerbread and mince pies. Softer drinks are also available: milkshakes with a variety of toppings, ground bean coffees and hot chocolate, plus doughnuts and brioches in a hot chocolate sauce.

The Tower of London ice rink is the perfect place to enjoy a date, or a day with the family or friends: join in with the skating and taste the appetising festive food, surrounded by history and looking at the sensational view.

The Tower of London Ice Rink will be open until 3rd January 2017, closing on Christmas day only. To buy tickets, click here.

Dinny Hall: A Shining Star

SEEN had the privilege recently, of hearing iconic jeweller Dinny Hall speak about her life and career in jewellery and design.
