Nobu Berkeley ST: a Different Style of Christmas

If, like SEEN, you’re feeling a tad weary at the thought of a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, you might want to give the new Christmas menu at Nobu Berkeley Street a look; it promises a twist on the usual festive fare.

If, like SEEN, you’re feeling a tad weary at the thought of a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, you might want to give the new Christmas menu at Nobu Berkeley Street a look; it promises a twist on the usual festive fare.

Start with a cocktail: in fact, make SEEN’s a Christmas Japanese Punch, which sounds like perfect fusion cuisine – Appleton Rum, Takara Plum Wine, Cognac, Ground Cinnamon, Blackberries, Cranberries, Blood Orange and Apple served with crushed ice.

Move on to festive Pre-Dinner Canapés. There are 2 menus for this part of your celebration, based on whether you want 4 or 6 canapés per guest. Again, glorious fusion food is the order of the day: Hot Miso Chips, Yellowtail Sashimi, Turkey Lollipops with Creamy Yuzu aji Amarillo, Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Lobster Ceviche and Turkey Breast Kushiyaki with Wasabi Sauce all sound mouthwatering.

Now you’re ready for your mains: Choose from Tuna Tataki with Ponzu, Salmon Sashimi Salad with Jalapeño Dressing, Sushi, and Black Cod with Miso or you could have Chicken Breast with Anti-Cucho Sauce, or Slow-Roasted Organic Bronze Turkey Breast with Seasonal Winter Vegetables And Cranberry Teryaki.

Finish with dessert, which rings all the fusion Christmas bells: Macana – White Chocolate Mousse, Pistachio Sponge, Mango Cream and Kalamanzi Sorbet or Cranberry Clafouti – Slow-baked Cranberry and Almond Tart with Cinnamon and Nutmeg Ice Cream.

Other Menu options include Beef Tenderloin with Teriyaki Sauce; Suntory Whisky Cappucino – Coffee Brulée with Cacao Crunch, Milk Ice Cream and Suntory Whisky Foam; King Crab Tempura with Ginger Salsa; Roasted Duck Breast, Seasonal Winter Vegetables, Dry Miso and Japanese Plum Wine Jus; and Wagyu Goma Truffle, to mention a few. SEEN is willing to bet that everyone in your party will find something they love.

The cocktails are £14, the lunch menu options start at £60 and the dinner menu options start at £80, but really Christmas at Nobu Berkeley ST elevates the festive meal to that of a new experience, which is what modern dining in London is all about. Available now until after Christmas.

My Furry Lady: the Art of Marion Peck at Dorothy Circus Gallery

SEEN can safely say that there is nowhere quite like Dorothy Circus Gallery in Notting Hill. It is the very antithesis of the white, clinical art gallery that abounds in the capital. From the beautiful yet disquieting pop surrealist art that is the passion of gallery director Alexandra Mazzanti, to the welcoming gallery itself complete …
