Camino Bankside’s Winter Lodge: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

SEEN has been enjoying Camino Bankside’s garden and its perfect gin & tonics all summer long. Now we cannot wait to visit their recently opened Winter Lodge, so we can sip spiced sangria or mulled wine while waiting for Christmas; a wonderful time of the year to see London transformed into a world of festive markets and twinkling lights.

A visit to Camino’s Winter Lodge, launched on Wednesday 9th November, is a great way to get into the festive spirit. Decorated with hanging lanterns, parasols, tree garlands, Christmas trees and, of course, plenty of fairy lights, the Winter Lodge outdoor bar serves a selection of classic festive drinks, including Spiced Sangria (made with Licor 43, orange juice, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, Cava, Whitley Neill, green apple and Rame), and mulled wine, with blankets available to help keep your cockles warm.

Camino Bankside’s Winter Lodge, which will remain open throughout the Christmas season, is the perfect retreat to warm up and enjoy a relaxing drink under a cosy blanket, after doing your Christmas shopping at nearby Tate Modern Christmas Market, which will start on 19th November.

You can also treat yourself to a little something from Camino’s Christmas menu, and really get into the spirit of the festive season: from an indulgent sucking pig dish to a fiesta menu served canapé style, not forgetting their tasty vegetarian menu. Give your meal the happiest of endings with Tarta de Santiago (Galician almond tart with vanilla and clotted cream). Go on, it’s Christmas, you deserve it.

Fever-Tree’s Very Own Gin School

London has always had an enthusiastic relationship with gin; right from the days when the water was undrinkable, gin has become the city’s tipple of choice. Imagine SEEN’s joy therefore, when we heard that this month, gin and tonic experts, Fever-Tree, is launching its very own Fever-Tree Gin School.

Bufle: Launch of the Bubble-Waffle

SEEN has heard much of the phenomenon of the Asian Bubble-Waffle and thus was very keen to sample this Hong Kong import for herself. My guest and I found ourselves in a bright, buzzy bar/café with tables and plenty of counters and high stools. It’s in Rupert Street, between Soho and busy Leicester Square.

Arthur Hooper’s Weekend Brunch

SEEN has been a huge fan of Arthur Hooper’s since their May opening. It’s handily located close to Borough Market (where much of their ingredients are sourced), so it is with great delight that we hear weekend brunches are now on the menu too.

The brand will also celebrate the UK debut of its 2017 collections, including the 20th anniversary edition of the iconic Charles seating system; all to be revealed with a new look for its B&B Italia London store on Brompton Road.
