Kano 2: Creative Computing for All

One of the best things SEEN saw at the recent London Design Festival was the Kano computer kit, funded by Kickstarter with its creators mentored by Map. Following the success of the initial project, Kano is now raising funds for add-on kits: smart camera, speakers and lightboard, all of which were designed in collaboration with Map. Competitively priced, extensively tested and with the original kits already available in 86 countries, SEEN rather longs for one. Powered by a Raspberry Pi, the instructions are simple. You learn as you build.

The bright colours draw the eye and the learning approach engages the brain. SEEN wishes Kano every success and awaits the next add-ons with interest.

What SEEN particularly liked was the variety of work on display and the informal atmosphere in which it …

The Castle at the Space: SEEN Reviews

SEEN was not that familiar with the work of Howard Barker prior to seeing ‘The Castle’ but feels she must rectify that situation. A powerful piece on the nature of masculinity, war, gender roles and the essential unreliability of religious faith, ‘The Castle’ benefits from a powerhouse cast and a stripped-back set, making the most of the Space’s environment.
