Last year, photographer Nick Knight was the artist chosen for Veuve Clicquot’s first Series. This time, FKA twigs is the artist in charge of writing, directing and curating ROOMS, her collaborative project in this year’s Series.

ROOMS has been described by FKA twigs herself as one of her most ambitious to date, where she can make her wildest creative ideas a reality. She describes it as a journey through the zodiac in search of her spiritual home, and promises it will be a multi-faceted experience involving an incredible set of designers, artists, dancers, choreographers, performance artists, actors, costumes, and makeup. It will comprise a cast of 30 within 12 installations, showing the work of different artists which will immerse the audience in every emotion, using dance, song and horror of the human emotion.

This second Veuve Clicquot Series is a tribute to Madame Clicquot on the 150th anniversary of her death. She was widowed young and had to take over her husband’s business, which she transformed into one of the most prestigious champagne brands in the world. She was a visionary with an incredible spirit of achievement, who developed crucial innovations in the champagne industry, such as the riddling table that enabled the production of the clear, non-cloudy champagne that we drink today, as well as the creation of Rosé champagne.

Due to the size of the space where ROOMS takes place, there are limited tickets. Before they go on public sale, there will be some made privately available on Monday, 10th October 13:00 UK time, via dice. You just have to register and download the app, following the instructions you will find in these links, and you will get a reminder before the tickets become available on Monday.

Should you not get tickets through the private sale, you can also register at veuveclicquotwidowseries.co.uk for tickets through the public sale.

SEEN has no doubts that FKA twigs, with her unique aesthetic and talent, will be a fitting tribute to Madame Clicquot. Let’s celebrate with FKA twigs & Veuve Clicquot’s creative ethos and core values: vision, innovation and art.

MO-GA: Perfectly Imperfect

As the Sun shines on Earth, so MO-GA’s gender-fluid designs grace the bodies of everyone, rejoicing in ambiguity. Multiple sleeves and feathers recall the animal kingdom in all its glorious diversity; it’s a new aesthetic.

Cocktails at the General Store

SEEN is tireless in her cocktail research, and very much enjoyed travelling to Highbury last week to try The General Store’s new summer cocktail menu and to check out the new interior. She was delighted to sample a Honey Mimosa, very sweet and fruity and just the ticket after a hot journey. It was, as its name suggests, a Mimosa with just a touch of honey.

Canaletto: A Drawing Workshop with Alexandra Blum

SEEN has long been an admirer of Alexandra Blum’s liminal and apocalyptic renderings of London’s urban spaces, in which the capital seems ever-changing. It is the artist’s job to capture not only space but the passage of time itself.

Love Hunt at the British Museum

SEEN had the pleasure (pun intended) of being invited to a ‘Love Hunt’ at the British Museum. The museum, founded in 1753, is committed to preserving art, culture and history, and has collected around 8 million objects. These artefacts come from every corner of the world, revealing a fragment of many significant moments in time, from Mesopotamia to the Vikings; from the Inuits to the Indians. So, when one embarks on a visit to the world famous British Museum, where does one start?
