Christopher Kane has built a reputation of making the ordinary less ordinary, pairing luxury fabrics with more crude materials. His Autumn/Winter 2016 collection is no exception.
The drama of the colder seasons is captured and contrasted in Kane’s stunning blend of autumnal colours such as deep-burnt orange, khaki and bright burgundy and monochromatic ensembles.
Kane’s trademark rags-to-luxury style was showcased in his simplistic plastic headscarves; a major talking point after the LFW catwalk show. Crafted using transparent blue and orange plastics, the scarves leave the audience yearning for a cup of tea and a biscuit with the little old lady next door.
The delicately feminine sheer cuts and complex seasonal prints are accentuated by their pairing with robust, boisterous overcoats and furs.
The looks are expertly completed with leather shoes and handbags, plumes of feathers and crocheted flowers.
